The main difference between debit cards and credit cards is that instead of extending credit via the card, banks allow purchases up to the amount of money in your checking account. The convenience of it all is a very alluring and almost essential in everyday life. However, a charge was introduced that would’ve made the usage of the debit cards expensive; the convenience of having cash in the form of plastic would’ve come with a price.
